What is AnRAA’s mission?

AnRAA is the advocacy association for the animal rescue community. We believe in the power of a unified voice. Our mission is to mobilize our members’ combined strengths and resources in order to rescue thousands more animals, reduce intolerable rates of euthanasia, promote a rescue code of ethics and elevate the entire animal rescue field.

———-

Who can become an AnRAA member?

Any rescue group that will abide by our Code of Ethics can become an AnRAA member.

———-

How much are membership dues?

Your annual AnRAA dues are determined by your expenses in the previous year:

  • Under $25,000 = $25.00
  • $26,000 to $99,000 = $50.00
  • Over $100,000 = $100.00

Do I have to be a 501(c)(3) to join?

    Not at all.

    ———-

How does an AnRAA membership benefit my rescue?

Our offerings range from easy-to-use forms to member discounts, from peer mentoring to public relations. Visit Why Join? for complete details on how AnRAA can help you.

    ———-

What is the AnRAA Code of Ethics?

The Code of Ethics was written by the AnRAA Board of Directors in collaboration with veterinarians, animal shelters and our member rescue organizations. It describes ethical standards for animal care, rescue procedure and professional behavior in the field.

    ———-

    What is AnRAA certification?

We are committed to the creation of a certification program that will honor the highest ethical standards in animal rescue. Visit Certification to read more about this unprecedented project and to find out how you can help.

Can we trust that all AnRAA members are reliable and responsible rescue groups?

We’d like to think so. We’d like to think every one of them abides by our Code of Ethics. However, like most membership organizations, we do not screen applicants. Instead, we ask that you alert us should you have concerns about any AnRAA members. In fact, we ask that you keep us abreast of any worrisome behavior in the rescue community. Your anonymity is guaranteed.

    ———-

    Do you need volunteers?

Thanks, but we’re full up. JUST KIDDING! We need all kinds of expertise to grow AnRAA. If there’s something you particularly enjoy doing, or you’ve an expertise you’d like to share (IT support? Did someone say IT?), please Drop us a line. And if you want to help but don’t know how, we’re certain to find something indispensable for you to do!

    ———-

Is AnRAA funded by or affiliated with any other group or organization?

No. AnRAA was formed and created by people like you…rescuers. We are not affiliated with or funded by other groups.
