WHY JOIN?

Until 2008, when AnRAA was awarded 501(c)(3) non-profit status, the animal rescue community had no professional advocacy organization. Animal rescue groups often worked in complete isolation; each group or individual had to begin from scratch. Time spent creating forms, processing data and solving commonly shared problems was time lost on truly crucial work: Saving more animal lives.

AnRAA was created to support, nurture and promote this immense and powerful community.

  • Develop Standards and Best Practices

  • Improve efficiency with easy-to-use, industry standard forms

  • Offer cost-saving member benefits

  • Support and encourage the growth of new rescues

  • Offer Peer Mentoring

  • Create an AnRAA Certification program

  • Promote humane education

  • Support and initiate humane legislation

  • Develop a life-saving Animal Abuse Hotline

  • Increase the visibility of volunteer rescue groups

  • Mobilize the strength of the animal rescue community
